Parkend Carnival is one of the longest running carnivals in the Forest of Dean and has been running every Bank Holiday Monday in August since 1968. Ever since then it has grown into a huge celebration and being loved by the thousands of people that come every year.
The carnival is set in the idyllic village of Parkend in the Royal Forest of Dean and offers a huge variety of things to do when you visit. The celebrations boast a whole host of attractions which sees an amalgamation of traditional and modern. There is so much to do that everyone will find something that they will love!
The celebration commences with a procession of decorated carnival lorries, cars, vans and vintage vehicles, not forgetting the musical and dance acts which feature the local community groups of the Forest of Dean.
